KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 21): PLUS Malaysia Bhd emerged as the first highway company to win the Asean Energy Award (AEA) 2020 held virtually in Hanoi, Vietnam on Thursday.
PLUS, in a statement, said that the company won the second place in the Large Building Energy Management category in the award event, involving companies in various other sectors such as hotel and healthcare.
PLUS’ achievement is through energy management efficiency for electricity consumption implemented at the Persada PLUS building.
Persada PLUS has recorded a reduction in energy consumption and improve building energy intensity (BEI) with a 15% decrease in annual energy consumption in 2019, compared to 2016.
Its managing director Datuk Azman Ismail said that the double victory was a recognition towards all sustainability initiatives implemented under the company’s five-year Green Roadmap plan to transform PLUS into a green company.
“The PLUS Green Roadmap plan encourages the company to preserve the environment with the most innovative approach within five years, until 2022.
“We also aim to improve the level of PLUS highway services through the implementation of contemporary and relevant green technology, practices and culture that will benefit the industry,” he said.
