KUALA LUMPUR — The Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water (KeTTHA) is calling for energy and green technology sector players to submit or nominate their respective projects, products and services for the inaugural National Energy & Green Technology Award (NEGTA).
In a statement, KeTTHA said the award was aimed at recognising organisations that have contributed in the field of sustainable energy.
“NEGTA is a platform to highlight the development of ideas and best practices in driving the country’s sustainable energy and green technology sector.
“It is also a strategic move to promote innovation in local technology, development and research in line with the country’s aspiration to spur green technology,” it said in a statement.
The award consist of four categories, namely the Energy Efficiency (Category 1); Renewable Energy (Category 2); Innovative Pre-Commercial Products/ Services – Prototype to Pilot (Category 3); and Innovative Commercial Products/ Services – Pilot to Commercialisation (Category 4).
KeTTHA’s Deputy Secretary-General (Energy and Green Technology) Datuk Badriyah Abd Malek said submission dates for Category 1 and 2 started from Dec 1, 2017 until Feb 28, 2018, while Category 3 and 4 would be from July 1 until August 28, 2018.
“The winners of Category 1 and 2 will be announced in early March 2018 to enable them to be proposed for the award at the inaugural ASEAN Energy Awards in April 2018.
“The awards ceremony will be held in Singapore in conjunction with the ASEAN Energy Ministers’ Meeting 2018,” said Badriyah.
The winners will be announced in March 2018 (Category 1 and 2) and October 2018 (Category 3 and 4).
Submission must be made to the Malaysian Green Technology Corporation as the NEGTA secretariat and application form could be downloaded from its website at www.negta.com.my.
The award ceremony will be held in conjunction with the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition and Conference (IGEM) 2018 in October.
