In the base year of 2018, the electrical energy consumption was 5,845,169 kWh/year and the ENPI was 0.43 kWh/m3. With the implementation of its energy management measures, this has been reduced to 2,214,100 kWh/year and 0.30 kWh/m3 respectively.

Among others, 6 root blowers were replaced with 2 turbo blowers. This was completed in September 2020. A solar PV system was also installed.

During the NEA 2024 evaluation, Petron Malaysia Refining and Marketing obtained the highest score among the candidates in the Energy Management in the Small and Medium Industries category, leading it to be declared the winner in this category.
