Spearheaded by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change, The National Energy Award (“NEA”) is an award that recognises the adoption of sustainable energy concepts and practices for Malaysia’s business organisations across all industries and sectors.
Established in 2018, NEA is a part of the Government’s strategic efforts to increase public acceptance and industry participation in the energy conservation, energy efficiency, and renewable energy technologies sectors.
The NEA initiative, which supports Malaysia’s ambition to achieve net-zero GHG emissions by 2050, encourages adopting sustainable energy practices and sharing knowledge of activities that adhere to sustainable energy standards.
National Energy Awards 2023 successfully received 114 submissions across Malaysian residents, businesses, and organisations where, consequently, a total of 29 winners from Energy Management, Energy Efficiency, and Renewable Energy solutions categories have been chosen. Among the outstanding winners, 23 represents Malaysia in the ASEAN Energy Awards 2023, where 12 Malaysian Sustainable Energy Projects astonishingly won.
